Residential Assessment

ResidentialAssessment of parents at our residential centre is an interactive process through which learning experiences are created to provide parents with regular opportunities to assess their knowledge, skills and understanding within a setting which is safe to them and their children.
Assessment of parents at the centre essentially covers all aspects of parenting capacity and appropriate areas of child development in accordance with the Department of Health Framework for Assessment.

A standard assessment model is used with every family admitted to the centre; however we recognise that every family's circumstances are different and unique, therefore additional methods of assessment can be added to the standard model.

ResidentialThe assessment process, depending on the nature of the referral request, can be adapted and tailored to meet specific requirements. In exceptional circumstances the assessment period can be extended.

During the initial weeks of assessment all families are monitored every half hour throughout the 24 hour period. Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) is in place in all communal areas and an audio sweep system is in place within the bedrooms.

The residential centre is registered with Ofsted to take a maximum of six families at any one time.
